“The community of believers were one in mind and heart.”
(Acts 4:32)
In
imitation of the First Christian Community, we strive to
recapture the original spirit of Community life, which
finds expression in varied ways.
St.
Paul reminded the Christian communities of the variety
of gifts that the Lord has placed on the community, and
exhorted them to use it for the glory of God and the
salvation of everyone.
In response to such
invitation, there is an overwhelming response from our
community to use each one's talents for the growth of
the community. Hence, the
Choir, the
Youth Group, and
the NAMCAA
take care of the
singing in the church as well as organizing different
events. The Legion of Mary,
the only pious organization that still comes together
for their weekly meetings, renders great service to the
community through personal meetings, house visits and
hospital visits. The Willing
Hands, a voluntary organization, single-mindedly
work for procuring the essential goods for the church.
The
social response to the community at large and its
involvement in the welfare of the whole community of
Lüderitz is manifested through the outreach programme,
the Two Hands Home-based Care Unit.
